150+ five-star reviews as a live performer

Magic that performs twice.

Once in the room. Again on the feed.

Bao Hoang is a magician, mentalist and former agency creative director. He makes brand content from fast UGC through full production, and he performs live at brand events, where the magic hands every guest in the room a reason to pull out their phone.

The audience

A niche audience that actually watches

Magic is a hyper-niche, and that is the point. Bao’s audience splits between people who follow skill-based craft and the marketing and creative professionals his agency background pulls in, across a Canadian following that is genuinely bilingual English and French. It is an audience that stops scrolling, because a trick only works if you actually watch it.

What Bao makes

From a phone-shot UGC cut to a full production

One creator across the whole ladder, so a brand does not have to trade production value for a native feel or hire two suppliers to get both.

  • Guests reacting to close-up magic at a brand event

    UGC and creator-led

Vertical, handheld, fast, and in Bao’s own voice, because that is what the platform rewards.

Every UGC deliverable ships with alternate opening hooks so your media team can test creative without booking a reshoot.
  • Bao on camera in a racing suit during the IWC shoot

    Branded content

Lit, directed and cut to your brand standards while still native enough to live in feed.

This is where most partnerships land: higher craft than UGC, without a full production timeline or budget.
  • The Subaru BRZ on location in Montreal during the shoot

    Full production

The Subaru and IWC tier. Concept, creative direction, crew, and a finished film a campaign can be built on.

Bao spent six years as a creative director at a marketing agency before this, so the brief, the direction and the delivery come from the same person.

What the top of the ladder looks like

Subaru needed a national spot for the BRZ. The brief did not ask for a magician. The idea was to hide a real trick inside a car ad and never explain it, so the viewer rewatches trying to catch it.

IWC Schaffhausen came the other way around. A cardistry video Bao posted for his own audience caught the boutique’s attention, and the collaboration was built from there. It is the most-watched piece in the portfolio outside social platforms.

At this tier a shoot runs like a shoot. Concept and creative direction, a crew, proper glass, and a monitor someone is actually watching. It is the part that separates a brand film from a creator posting about a product, and it is the part Bao spent six years doing on the agency side before he did it for himself.

The part most brands have not considered

Your guests are creators. Give them something they cannot not film.

Most brands run these as two separate line items. One budget hires a creator to make content about the product. Another budget hires entertainment so the room has something to do. The two never touch, and when the night ends, the entertainment budget has nothing left to show for itself. Booking one person for both changes that math.

  1. Bao performs

Close-up magic and mentalism, worked through the room in small groups, the same way it runs at a corporate gala. No stage, no set-up window, no dead air while people wait for a show to start.

  2. The room films it

This is the part that is never in the brief. People film magic. They always have. At a brand or creator event, every guest already knows how to shoot, cut and post, and they are posting to an audience that trusts them.

  3. Bao cuts the anchor piece

While that is happening, Bao is capturing the asset the brand actually owns: your product inside the trick, real unpaid reactions, cut for feed with alternate hooks for paid testing.

  4. The brand keeps all of it

You leave with an owned deliverable, usage rights scoped before the shoot, and a night of organic posts from other people’s accounts that no media buy produced.

One booking does the experiential budget’s job, the content budget’s job, and adds a layer of guest-generated reach that neither budget can buy on its own.

What you leave with

  • The live performance, worked through the room for the full window
  • One branded hero piece, plus alternate hooks for paid testing
  • Raw footage and stills from the activation, yours to reuse
  • Usage rights and term agreed before the shoot, never after
  • A French version where the campaign needs Quebec

Proof

The guests do the posting

Two examples of what that actually looks like once the room fills up.

Amazon

Bao was booked to perform for a room of Amazon affiliates and creators. One of them filmed her own reaction mid-trick and posted it to her story, unprompted and unpaid. Nobody asked her to.

The brand paid for a performance and received a piece of content from someone else’s account, to someone else’s audience, carrying the credibility of not being an ad.

Cadillac brought Bao into the ELECTRIQ Tour to hold attention at the LYRIQ activation and to generate stories from the floor. It worked well enough that they flew him to Vancouver to do it again at the next stop. A repeat booking is the only review of an activation that counts.

Portrait of Bao Hoang

Meet Bao

Who is Bao?

Bao Hoang is a magician and mentalist based in Montreal, performing at corporate events across Canada, and a content creator with a combined following of over 400,000 across YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. YouTube Canada named him a “Creator on the Rise”, and he was selected for Canada’s Got Talent with four yeses from the judges.

Before going full-time, Bao spent six years in marketing as a photographer, videographer and creative director, working on campaigns for brands including Porsche Canada and Mazda Canada. That is the part most creators cannot offer: he has sat on the agency side of the table and knows what a brand team actually needs to receive.

He started performing at 12 and turned professional at 15. Nineteen years later, that is why the magic in a brand piece holds up to a rewatch, and why the room at a live activation reacts the way it does.

How it comes together

How a partnership is scoped

No rate card, on purpose. The same deliverable is a different number depending on where it runs and for how long, so the scope conversation comes first.

  1. 01

    The brief

What the campaign has to do, where it runs, and whether there is an event in play. Bao will tell you early if magic is the wrong fit, because a forced concept reads as forced.

  2. 02

    The scope

Deliverables, usage rights, exclusivity, and whether a live activation is attached. Every one of those moves the number, which is why nobody should be quoting before this conversation.

  3. 03

    Production

From a same-day UGC turnaround to a full crew shoot. Concept and creative direction are included at every tier, not billed as an extra line.

  4. 04

    Delivery

Final cuts, alternate hooks for paid testing, and French versions where the campaign needs Quebec. Raw footage and stills from any live activation come with it.

Brand FAQs

Can one booking cover both the live event and the content?

Yes, and that is the format Bao recommends. He performs through the event and captures the branded piece on the same day, which is cheaper and better than hiring a creator and an entertainer separately. Scope the two together and the day is planned around both, rather than one getting in the way of the other.

How do usage rights work?

Rights are priced, not assumed. Organic reposts on your own channels, paid media and whitelisting, and the term you need them for are all scoped before the shoot so nothing is ambiguous afterwards. Perpetual worldwide rights are the one thing Bao does not hand over by default.

Do you offer category exclusivity?

Yes, priced separately. Locking Bao out of a category has real cost to his business, so it is a line item rather than a courtesy, and the term is always finite.

Can you deliver in French?

Yes. Bao is fully fluent and performs and creates professionally in both French and English, which for a Canadian brand means one creator covering two markets. A French version is treated as its own deliverable rather than a free add-on.

What do you need on site for a live activation?

Very little. Close-up magic needs no stage, no sound system and no set-up window, so it can run inside an existing floor plan without changing it. If the room wants a stage moment as well, that is a separate format and gets planned into the run of show.

How many guests can you cover?

Bao works small groups at a time, which is what makes the reactions filmable. For larger rooms he brings additional magicians. His team has covered 500+ guests inside 90 minutes for a client who needed close-up entertainment at that scale.

Do you travel?

Yes. Bao is based in Montreal and works across Canada and internationally for brand projects. Cadillac flew him to Vancouver for the second stop of the ELECTRIQ Tour.

What is the turnaround on deliverables?

UGC pieces typically turn around within days. Branded content and full productions follow the schedule set in the scope, and the first cut always lands early enough to leave room for one round of notes before the campaign date.

Work with Bao

Tell Bao about the campaign

If you have a brief, send it. If you have a rough idea and a date, that works too.

Bao reads brand inquiries himself and will come back within one business day, usually with questions about deliverables, usage rights and whether there is a live moment in play, so the scope can be priced properly instead of guessed at.
